Cabela’s Outfitter Series Oval Roaster/Griddle
Cabela’s oval roaster is one heavy piece of cast iron! When the UPS driver delivered this chuck of a pot, they had to use a fork lift! Just kidding of course. This is one awesome addition to your Dutch oven collection. I ordered mine last November from Cabela’s web site for $44.99 plus shipping, it arrived in less than a week.
It weighs a lot, at least 20lbs. The quality is excellent, solid, no warpage, pits or flaws of any kind. Cabela’s logo is casted on the top making for a nice look. Un-seasoned, oh well! Just make sure to do a double seasoning to make in non-stick.
The dimensions of this beast will enable you to place a roast, rack of ribs or a bucket of stew in side! It’s 20” wide from handle to handle tip, 6” tall (bottom to top) and 10 ½” deep. Inside measurement are: 17 ½” x 9 ¼” x 4”.
So far I have cooked roasts, ribs and stews in mine. The possibilities are endless. Did I mention griddle? Well ’ what the lid will be for if you just flip it over. Pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs or crepes, you can do it all on this griddle!
The Roaster is no longer on Cabela’s web site or in their catalog. I emailed their customer service and they stated it was still available. For how long? I don’t have a clue. Model # IH - 516770
