Char-Griller Barbecue Smoker Review

Char-Griller Barbecue Smoker ReviewWow, am I excited! I have finally been able to assemble my Char-Griller Barbecue, the weather has been un-cooperative as well as my life schedule.

Adding another Barbecue to the Cooking-Outdoors arsenal is a big thing for me and will result in many more unique meals that you can follow.

Char-Griller Review Part 1

Char-Griller Barbecue Smoker ReviewWhat we have is a Char-Griller Professional Barbecue. It’s called the pro deluxe model and it is 580” of grill plus 270” warming rack, this is model 2222.

First I start un-boxing, getting ready for assembly and as I open up the box, it is very well packed. Each piece is independently wrapped for protection; I noticed there are little notes like “if you can read this than you have assembled wrong stickers on various parts”. Though the box is rather well damaged, the actual products in the box seem to be in excellent condition.

Char-Griller Barbecue Smoker ReviewThe parts are extremely heavy and this is not a light barbecue by any stretch of the imagination. It comes with a complete owner’s manual and shows step by step instructions for assembly. Latter after we get this taken apart, we’ll go through those assembly steps and I’ll tell you how to put this together.

So, looking at everything, even though we have a damaged box, we have just a virtually perfect product which is nice and comforting. All of the pieces are either numbered in their packaging or clearly identifiable from the owners manual.

Char-Griller Barbecue Smoker ReviewWell after taking everything apart and out of the packaging, I have found my first damaged piece, the top lid on the back. It is bent outwards slightly though it’s not a serious piece of damage. Though it’ll be a little annoying, I don’t think it would affect the cooking at all and more than likely I’ll be able to tap it back into place with a rubber mallet. There is rust on some of the pieces and they look un-coated underside of the lid but everything else is coated nicely.

As I look at the finish, I do not think this is something I could replicate. If I have to touch it up with black barbecue paint, it will not match. It looks like it is powder coated on so it has a rough finish, almost a silver or gray flecking to it, which is certainly not possible to be replicated.

Char-Griller Barbecue Smoker ReviewWhen this is finished and assembled, we have to season it, of course. I’ll be adding the side fire box for smoking and I’ll have a nice little cover for it. I’m looking forward to assembling it and I will have step by step instructions for assembling the barbecue and to help those of you that pick up the Char-Griller 2222.

So the final judgement? This is a serious heavy-duty piece of steel! Quality construction and attention to detail. Even with the box all banged up, this barbecue was able to handle the abuse which says a lot.
