Bill, As far as I know, you can not un-warp a cast iron pot or pan. I'll try to ask around and see if anyone has ever done this with success.

Gary, I watched your youtube video on reseasoning and reconditioning a dutch oven. Recently a friend gave me a wagner 10 inch skillet that was pretty bad similar to these DOs. I went thru the process in the self clean oven and had to take some 0000 steel wool to clean it up with some surface rust as you showed how to do in the video. Then flax seed oil and an hour in the grill. It turned out great. I took it in the house and put it on the stove and noticed it was warped which I believe it was before I started the process of getting it back into shape. Is there a fix for this? I thought about putting the skillet between two short 2X4s and putting it in the vise in my garage and slowing tightening it to see if there was any hope! What do you recommend? Bill

Jim,

Congratulations on your bread! Not sure if the scouts will still allow it but Non-alcohol beer works great. But water and yeast should get things going as well but then you are back to a regular bread making process.

Gary,

Saw your videos on Dutch Oven Chicken Picatta and made the bread this past weekend. It was my first attempt at dutch oven cooking since I bombed making biscuits years ago at one of my Boy Scout Troop campouts. The bread turned out fantastic but since I would like to make it again to show my Scouts, what can I use besides the beer? I assume water would work and just enough to get the same consistency? Besides flavor does the beer offer anything else in the baking process? No alcohol at Scout events..
Thanks

Gary, I'm looking into buying another grill (charcoal), and I'm looking for you opinion. I'm looking at getting either:
1. Weber One Touch Gold 22 1/2"
2. Weber Performer Gold
3. Weber Platinum One Touch??, with the side table on each side. It doesn't appear on Weber's web site but is available on amazon.

I believe the Platinum, and performer both come with the charcoal baskets.

This would be my first charcoal grill.

Hi!
I would like you to review the Buccaneer Cooler/Grill on my website, also featured in the above mentioned blog, and check it for practicality for tailgating. Thanks.
Also, I have a new suggestion for a recipe: on bestchefinthebackyard.blogspot.com, we have a recipe for our own Jucy Lucys, and now we have added a hard fried egg on the top of them and it is really great. You might want to try it!
