The Outdoor Cook

Welcome to Cooking-Outdoors.com.

gary firepit 3 300x225 The Outdoor CookCooking Outdoors is not a new phenomenon, nor will Cooking-Outdoors try to reinvent the process. I have been cooking outdoors for many years and enjoy trying to learn new techniques or what I like to call “adventures”.
I originally learned to cook outdoors by watching my Dad when I was a teenager, he was a spit cooker. He would marinate some meat, cut it into cubes and thread them on a spit to cook over the fire. I was hooked!
I am an avid Dutch oven cook and the founder of C.C.D.O.A.  ”Central California Dutch Oven Adventures” www.ccdoa.webs.com. My collection of black pots seems to grow every year.
I have done many Dutch oven cooking demonstrations as well as judging Dutch oven competitions, including judging the 2010 World Championship Dutch oven cook-offs in Sandy, Utah. You’ll even find me teaching Grilling and Dutch oven cooking at the local college.
Cooking over an open fire is one of my personal favorites, the challenge, smell, taste and of course the rewards are what makes this a surprise every time.  Product review, recipe and a technique are the goals for the weekly additions to the blog.
I have been featured on Camp Chef, Char broil and the Big Wild radio show as well as a demonstrator at Orange County Fair, International Sportsman Exposistion and various regional retail outlets.
You can also find my cooking adventures on:

The new “Cooking Everything Outdoors” video series is a huge hit and can be found on iTunes, Blackberry and Zune.

I won’t be teaching anyone how to get rich but I bet I can make you just a little bit happier if you stick around and share my many adventures cooking outdoors……
Gary
