Easy Cast Iron Skillet Linguica Pizza Recipe

Without a doubt, pizza is big in our family. It really doesn't matter what kind of pizza, as long as it has pepperoni and cheese for the boys … oh well.

One of the fears of pizza making, is getting the dough just right from scratch. Most people I talk to, imagine it to be extremely complicated, time consuming and requires a tremendous amount of practice. That is just untrue!

This Cast Iron Skillet Linguica Pizza Recipe, takes only a couple of hours of time to make and the majority of that time is watching the pizza dough rise. So if making the perfect pizza dough has kept you from making pizza on your grill, then this is the recipe for you!

No rolling out the pizza dough required cast iron skillet pizza is easy to make and bake, so easy, you just might never go back to thin crust again.

Equipment used:

Pizza dough recipe: (Make 3 – 4 crusts for a 10″ cast iron skillet)

Make your pizza dough recipe.

While it is proofing, slice your onions, pepper and Linguica.

Heat your skillet, and saute' your sliced onions and chili pepper.

I threw in a couple of pieces of Linguica to add extra flavor.

The beauty of using a cast iron skillet to make a pizza, is it is almost foolproof. Once you make your dough, you just press it in place and fill it up!

Press in with your finger tips until the dough covers the bottom of skillet and a little ways up the sides.

Use 1/4 of the pizza dough recipe for a thin crust.

Layer all of your ingredients onto the pizza dough.

I went with: sauce, onions, mushrooms, green onions, cheddar cheese, Linguica.

Heat your Camp Chef Pizza oven or grill to 450°F and place your skillet directly in the center to bake.

Time will vary depending on how thick your pizza dough and ingredients are.

(Mine cooked for 20 minutes total)

Just before the pizza is done, add some Mozzarella cheese to the top.

Next time I am going to double the amount of Linguica 🙂

 

Easy Cast Iron Skillet Linguica Pizza Recipe

Pizza dough recipe c/o Natalie P.
Ingredients
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet of yeast
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil

  • Linguica Pizza Toppings (1 pizza)
  • ½ small onion sliced
  • 1 red Anaheim Chili Pepper, seeded, sliced
  • 6 oz Linguica, sliced
  • ¼ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tbsp pizza sauce
Instructions
  1. Warm water and milk to 85-90°F
  2. Mix sugar with milk/water mix
  3. Add 1 packet of yeast to top of milk/water mix
  4. Let sit for 20 minuets
  5. Mix 4 cups flour with 1 teaspoon salt
  6. Mix with milk until dough is formed
  7. Kneed of 5 mins.
  8. Add Olive oil to large bowl
  9. Add dough to bowl, rolling dough to coat with Olive oil
  10. Cover bowl with damp towel
  11. Proof till size doubles
  12. Punch down, proof again
